John George Weber, age 84, passed away suddenly on April 7, 2024 at his home in Cherry Hill, NJ, formerly of Holland, PA and Philadelphia, PA. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Teresa Weber (nee Staudenmayer). Dear father of John Weber, Terry (Bob) Delgado, Denise (Steven) Budzynski, and Donna (Doug) Frank. Loving grandfather of Danielle and Grace Delgado, Nicole and Ryan Budzynski, Sara and Stephanie Cirelli, and Kyle Frank. Predeceased by his loving parents, John and Anna.
For over forty years, John made the daily commute to the Garment District in New York City, by way of driving to Trenton, NJ and commuting by train, to where he worked as a Sales Representative ~ first at Clarence Meyer Textiles, then Carolina Maiden. His home was often filled with giant spools of colorful yarn and fabrics.
John attended LaSalle High School and Saint Francis of Loretto University. While attending high school, he met his soon-to-be wife, Teresa, at a Saint Joe’s High School dance at age seventeen. It was love at first sight. They were married by age twenty-two, and went on to have four loving children. They resided in Northeast Philadelphia on Hoff Street, and then in Holland, Bucks County. During those years they traveled extensively with friends and spent many summers renting in Wildwood Crest, NJ. Some of his best memories were singing Sweet Caroline along with the Big Edsel Band at Carnies, eating at the Lobster Pot, and enjoying a cold beer at the Crest Tavern.
John loved nothing more in life than being with his friends and family. It was everything to him. It was at Saint Francis University that John met his longest friend, Jerry Cheslock - a friendship that would last for over sixty-six years. He also loved dinners and phone calls with his many other cherished friends - Bob, Bill, Mike and so many others.
In 2015, John and Teresa moved to Cherry Hill. They flourished in those years, surrounded by the attention of their children and grandchildren, attending family barbeques and Sunday dinners. John never missed his weekly lunches in Newtown, PA with a group of dear friends or his monthly seafood dinners at the Crab Trap in Ocean City, New Jersey.
John was a history and sports buff. He was an avid reader of anything World War 2. He often spent his free time watching World War 2 documentaries and enjoyed sharing his passion and knowledge of history and trivia with others. He was a dedicated fan of the Philadelphia sports teams, particularly the Philadelphia Eagles. John and Teresa never missed a game.
John was a wonderful person, always putting others before himself. His family was his number one priority always. He never complained and was kind to everyone. Inspired by his brickpointer father, he was the kind of man who looked out for the little guy, and made sure to tip everyone for any service offered, no matter how small. He was the sweetest man who appreciated everything in life with true thankfulness and gratefulness.
He is at peace with his wife and loved ones in heaven. He will be missed dearly.
