Emilio “Bill” D’Armi, age 98 of Fairview, Camden, NJ, passed away on April 20, 2018 and was reunited with his beloved wife, Nancy C. D’Armi (nee DeMarco) who passed away on December 27, 1979. He missed her every day.
He leaves behind two daughters Nancy Rex and Anna Marie Ryan (husband Terry), three grandchildren Kara Kalitz (husband Joe), Jason Ryan (wife Judy), Nicole Giglio (husband Lou), and three great-grandchildren Aiden, Kaitlyn and Louis. He is greatly missed by his little fur-daughter cat, Mitzie, who never left his side. He is also survived by his two sisters Rose D’Armi and Rita Caliva, and sister-in-law Grace Colafrancesco, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was born May 18, 1919, in Philadelphia, PA. He was an Army Veteran, serving two tours in World War II. He always referred to his service to our country as being in the “Boy Scouts.” He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for over 30 years as an Information & Reservations Clerk. He enjoyed going to social dances four times each week and the horse racetrack every day, which he drove himself to until the age of 93. His biggest dream was to hit the lottery, hire a chauffeur and a cook and build himself a little bungalow on a hill. His spirited and energetic personality will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends of the family will meet for his viewing and funeral on Thursday morning from 9:30AM to 11:00AM at the Church of the Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Rd., Sewell, Washington Twp., NJ 08080. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM Thursday. He will be laid to rest, next to his wife, Nancy, at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Arr. by BOCCO FUNERAL HOME, Cherry Hill.
