Pio Florencio “Ike” I. BerberabeMay 10, 1952 ~ September 20, 2017 (age 65)
It is with great sadness that the family of Pio Florencio I. Berberabe, known to all as “Ike”, announces his passing after a brief illness, on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Virtua Hospital in Marlton, NJ.
Ike is predeceased by his parents Pedro and Lily (nee Icasiano) Berberabe, his brother Pacquito (Lynette), and his brother in law Resty (Marie). Ike will be lovingly remembered by his sister Marie, brother Peter (Consor), sister Linda (Boy), sister Dorie (Emilyn), sister Babee (Fred), and brother Bebet (Liza). Ike will also be fondly remembered by his 13 nieces and nephews, Gaily (Joel), AJ (Melissa), Annette (Joy), Reena (Mike), Jigger, Robbie, Randy (Marie Ann), Karen, Giselle (Mike), Justinn, Ian (May), Angelo (Rachel), and Kristelle (Jose) and 17 grandnieces and grandnephews. Ike will also be forever remembered by his extended family, dear friends, and coworkers.
A native of Batangas, Philippines, Ike attended Ateneo de Manila from kindergarten through high school. He graduated with a B.A. Degree in Journalism from The University of the Philippines.
In 1980, he moved to the United States and has lived in New Jersey for the past 37 years. In the mid-1980’s, he began his career at Metran Funding Inc. in New York, where he eventually assumed the role of Senior Vice President of the company. He then transitioned to Medallion Financial Corporation.
A funeral service in celebration of Ike’s life will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 (7-10pm) and Friday, September 22, 2017 (7-10pm) at Bocco Funeral Home, 1300 Kings Highway North, Cherry Hill, NJ and Saturday, September 23, 2017 (10-10:30am) preceding Mass at Christ Our Light Church.
A Mass and Catholic burial will be celebrated in memory of Ike on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 10:30am, at Christ Our Light Church, 402 Kings Highway North, Cherry Hill, NJ with Fr. Jay Philip Ramos presiding.
Interment will follow at Jesus, Bread of Life Catholic Cemetery, 3055 Fostertown Road, Mount Laurel, NJ.
