Joseph C. Bocco, Sr. (1922-1986)

Founder

Soon after their marriage, Joe and his wife Phyllis opened the Bocco Funeral Home in its original location in South Camden, NJ in 1951.  For nearly 25 years, they provided funeral services to the local community while raising three children.  In 1978, they moved the funeral home to its current location on Kings Highway in Cherry Hill, NJ.  When Joe passed away in 1986, his son Joseph, Jr. along with Phyllis, continued the tradition of providing family-centered care throughout the local community.

Joseph grew up in the apartment above the funeral home in Camden and has been involved with some aspect of the funeral business his entire life.  After graduation from Rutgers University in Camden, NJ, Joseph has been a licensed funeral director for nearly 40 years. 



Nicholas Joseph Lukaszewicz

Nick is the funeral home’s third generation funeral director and grandson of founder Joseph C. Bocco, Sr.  Since high school Nick worked part time at the funeral home and eventually decided to join as a full time member after graduation from The College of New Jersey with a B.A. degree in 2012.  In 2015, Nick became a fully licensed funeral director in New Jersey.  Nick also served as Manager of the former Giosa Funeral Home in West Berlin, NJ from 2019 to 2022.  He currently resides in Cherry Hill with his wife Francesca and their daughter Serena and is an active parishioner of The Catholic Community of Christ Our Light Church, Cherry Hill.
