Lawrence “Larry” DiPilla, Sr. from Glendora passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, July 1, 2018. Larry was born on July 26, 1940 in Camden to the late Pearl Leonetti and the late Joseph DiPilla.
Larry retired with over 48 years of dedicated service to the Compass Group in Philadelphia, Pa where he was known by many as “the candy man”. He was a member of St. Teresa’s Church and a life-long Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Larry’s kind spirit was an example to everyone. He loved cooking for his family and friends and will be remembered as someone who always had a smile and a wonderful meal to share with you. Every morning he enjoyed going out for coffee with his friends and was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was an avid gardener and was happiest when spending time with his four grandchildren. Larry was a true Italian gentleman that spent time traveling to Italy and Sicily with his loving wife and friends. He often enjoyed the music of Andrea Bocelli and, although “it is time to say goodbye”, he will live on in our hearts forever.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Staszak.) Dear father of Larry (Stephanie) DiPilla, Jr. and Dawn Carley. Loving grandfather of Austin, Allison, Nicole and Lauren. Dear brother of Anna (the late Bill) Stamm.
