Phyllis M. (nee Huntzinger) Lorenz

(nee Huntzinger) Phyllis M. Lorenz, on August 16, 2019, age 85 of Cherry Hill, NJ. Beloved wife of John E. Lorenz.  Dear mother of John M. Lorenz and Beth Lorenz Brody.  Loving grandmother of Daniel Brody and Carolyn Brody.  Dear sister of Charles (Betty) Huntzinger, Jr.

Married since 1957 to the love of her life, Jack, Phyllis graduated from Philadelphia General Hospital Nursing School in 1955, first caring for patients at Good Samaritan Hospital in Pottsville, PA.  Jack and Phyllis moved to New Jersey in 1957 and then, after taking time to raise her family, Phyllis returned to nursing and worked at Cooper Medical Center from 1968 - 1996.  Together, Jack and Phyllis dedicated their life to building a close-knit family, taking yearly vacations with their two children (even driving across country), spending early holidays with close relatives in Schuylkill County, PA, and then being with their grandchildren frequently as the years progressed.  Phyllis remained grounded in her love for her husband, children, and two grandchildren, and could often be found making pumpkin pies, shoofly cupcakes, brownies, chicken pot pies, or beef stroganoff for special birthday celebrations.  A talented seamstress, Phyllis spent the early part of her motherhood making clothes for her daughter and to this day, it is said that no one can iron a dress shirt like Phyllis.  Her laughter was contagious, as was her love and caring attitude for everyone in her life.   

Relatives and friends of the family will meet for the visitation on Wednesday evening from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the BOCCO FUNERAL HOME, 1300 North Kings Hwy., Cherry Hill, NJ.  On Thursday morning at 10:30am everyone will meet directly at Christ The King R.C. Church, 200 Windsor Ave, Haddonfield, NJ. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 11:00am.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 (www.Heart.org).
