Kenneth J. Whilt

On Saturday, January 30, 2021, Kenneth J. Whilt age 78 of Cherry Hill entered into eternal life peacefully at home.  He is survived by his loving wife, Diana L. Whilt (nee DiPietro), his daughters Karen Whilt, Amy (Ryan) Mertz, and Donna (Geoffrey) Horsfield, and grandchildren, Linda Rose and Ryan Mertz.

He was the devoted husband, a loving father, and grandfather.  Ken was a man of great faith and steadfast love for his family, golf, and travel.  He was a good-hearted man whose tenderness touched all who knew him.

In his early years, he proudly served in the United States Air Force.  Later working at Thomson Lamination until owning The Shepherd’s Inn restaurant.  There he spent 20 years growing a business that employed family members, friends, and became a local landmark.  After selling the restaurant, he returned to Thomson Lamination in sales.  He joined Torresdale Country Club where he loved to golf.

Ken may be most remembered for the holiday parties he and Diana threw over the years.  All were welcome for holiday cheer.  In later years, his love for the holiday grew into designing multiple Christmas trees and villages throughout the house, creating his very own winter wonderland.

 He loved taking the grandchildren on vacations and spending afternoons watching tv with them.

Over the course of his life, he and Diana visited 27 countries and islands, enjoying cruises, islands, and their favorite place of all, Nuevo Vallarata, Mexico.

He will be sadly missed by both family and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family will meet for the Funeral Mass 11:00am Saturday morning, February 13th at Holy Eucharist R.C. Church, 344 Kresson Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kenneth's memory to Tunnels for Towers (www.tunnel2towers.org).  Arr. by BOCCO of Cherry Hill.
