Anthony Joseph Fugaro passed away on December 23, 2023 after an extended battle with cancer. Tony was born on August 18, 1939 to Joseph and Rose Bocco Fugaro in the Fairview section of Camden, NJ. Tony married Delia Carmella Settanni, a fellow south Camden native, in 1967. He proudly served his country as a physician in Ft. Polk, Louisiana during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1971 with the rank of Major from the U.S. Army Medical Corps.

Tony graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and practiced medicine as an anesthesiologist in the Philadelphia area. While the majority of his career (42 years) was spent at Lankenau Hospital, he was on staff at Temple University Hospital, Episcopal Hospital, and Nazareth Hospital, assuming the Chief of Anesthesia and Department Chair positions at the latter two.

Tony was passionate about medicine, teaching, and the advancement of the industry, however nothing provided him greater joy than being a brother, husband, father, grandfather, and mentor. Anthony is survived by his wife and sons Joseph (Paula), Michael (Donna), and Christopher (Audrey). He has six grandchildren, Cecilia, Antonio, Victoria, Curtis (furry), Theodore, and Jake. His siblings are Donata (Bernie) Kratz, Amelia (Anthony), and Joseph (Janet).

Tony generously donated his body to PCOM for the needs of the medical school and will then be buried in Arlington National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be announced by the family in the upcoming months. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to PCOM for the DO Student Scholarship Fund, to the Cooper Medical School at Rowan University, or to the charity of your choice.
