Obituary

SIMEONE, CARMELA (ARTANI) 78, of Cherry Hill, NJ, was called home on Good Friday, April 3, 2015, after a brief illness surrounded in love by her family and friends as she passed peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior. Carmela emigrated to the U.S. in 1959 from her hometown of Sant'Ambrogio Sul Garigliano, Italy and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1972. She is the daughter of Arturo and Rosa (Petreccia) Artani.

Carmela was an active member of the Sons of Italy, Lodge 2567, Cherry Hill, NJ, along with her Husband, Isidoro, who is the Captain of the Bocce Ball team.

Carmela is survived by Isidoro,  her loving husband of 56 years, her beloved children, Antonio (Tony) Simeone (Nancy) of Mt. Ephraim, NJ, I. Dominic Simeone, Esq., (Lauren) of Haddon Heights, NJ and John Simeone (Kathleen) of Lafayette Hills, PA, her sister Michelina (Luigi) Trionfo of Montreal, Quebec, her brother Davide Tomasso (Gilda) Artani of Sant'Ambrogio Sul Garigliano, Italy, sadly missed by granddaughter Samantha, step grandchildren Maria and Richard and little dog Coco. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Carmela was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Maria Simeone, Francesca Simeone and brother Pietro Artani.

Relatives and friends may call on Monday, April 13, 2015, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Tuesday, April 14, 2015, from 8:15 am to 9:15 am, at the BOCCO FUNERAL HOME, 1300 North Kings Highway, Cherry Hill, NJ, (856) 795-5991. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at 10:00 am at the St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 43 West Maple Ave., Merchantville, NJ 08109 (856) 663-1373. Entombment will follow at the Locustwood Memorial Park, 1500 Marlton Pike W, Cherry Hill, NJ. (856) 429-0500
