Obituary

Louis R. Moffa,  89, formerly of Haddonfield, NJ, died peacefully at home with his wife Lita by his side on Sunday, September 27, 2015, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.  He was predeceased by his wife of forty years, Dina (nee Bocco), together with whom they raised their five children in Blackwood, Ocean City and Haddonfield. He was born in Latrobe, PA, on September 8, 1926.  He attended and graduated from Haddonfield High School and the University of Detroit.  He served his country as a pilot during World War II in the United States Navy.  As a Professional Engineer, he worked on numerous projects throughout the Delaware Valley, most recently serving as Vice President, Design and Construction Management, for Virtua Health System, where he oversaw development and construction of the William G. Rohrer Center for Health Fitness, among many other projects. He retired from Virtua in 2010 at the age of 84.  He brought his good humor, impeccable character and common sense to everyone he met.  He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.  He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Louis (Donna), Dominic (Mary Beth), Robert (Diana), Salvatore and Maria, his 7 grandchildren (Anthony, David, Nicholas, Andrew, Michelle, Gina and Matthew), his great-grandson (Michael), his stepchildren and their spouses, Steven (Beth) Hirshenhorn, Hildy (Barry) Berger, and Jackie (Robert) Glass, and his 4 step grandchildren Rachael (John) Peters, Joshua (Carolyn) Hirshenhorn, Jake and Cameron Glass..  A memorial service organized by BOCCO FUNERAL HOME, Cherry Hill, NJ will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 135 N. White Horse Pike, Lindenwold, NJ, on Saturday October 10, 2015.  Visitation with the family will start at 9:00 a.m. and the Memorial Mass will follow at 10 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Bishop Eustace Prep School, 5552 Route 70, Pennsauken, NJ. 08109-4798, dedicated to the "Moffa Family Scholarship" or submitted online at www.eustace.org/giveonline.  Cards and notes of remembrance may be sent to the Moffa Family at P.O. Box 187, Haddonfield, NJ 08033.
