Michael K. Drapkin, Sr., of Bridgeton, NJ, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away at age 84 on Thursday, June 22, 2023. Beloved husband of Claire Drapkin (nee Holcomb) and the late Carol Drapkin (nee Ziegler); dear father of Michael (Kristen) Drapkin and Susan Drapkin; loving grandfather to Jack and Lily Drapkin; brother of Ellen (Joseph) Kleinerman and the late Marsha (Martin) Pochapin; dear uncle to nieces and nephews; and a beloved friend of Donald Burns, among others.

Michael was a native of Detroit, MI and was a decorated, competitive swimmer in his youth. He spent his professional life as a journalist, including at the Wall Street Journal, and as a public relations professional at the United Steelworkers of America and the National Treasury Employees Union. He was a tireless advocate for the organized labor movement and working people everywhere.

Michael especially enjoyed spending time with his family eating fudge and salt water taffy on the boardwalk and beaches of Ocean City, NJ.

Services held privately.
