Obituary

Raymond J. Nimmer, on October 13, 2026 age 96, of Moorestown, NJ. Beloved uncle of Jennifer Wheeler (Mike), Theresa Mitrenga (Mark), John Nimmer, Joanne Nimmer, Susan Nimmer and others. Predeceased by his siblings Thomas Nimmer, Joseph Nimmer (Rita), George Nimmer, Charlie Nimmer (Eleanor), Marion Duffy (Frank) and Dominic Nimmer.

Ray proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He attained the rank of Sergeant, a distinction that reflected his dedication and commitment to service. Following his military service, he continued his education at La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he earned his degree. He went on to devote 25 years of his life to teaching eighth-grade social studies in the Southampton Township School System. Through his years in the classroom, he shared his knowledge and helped shape the lives of countless students, leaving a lasting legacy as an educator.

Some of his fondest memories began growing up on 10th Street in Philadelphia alongside his beloved siblings. Those childhood years and the memories they created together remained a meaningful part of his life and his personal story. His Lebanese roots were also an important part of his family’s heritage, connecting him to traditions and the rich cultural background passed down through generations. He especially looked forward to enjoying Lebanese food, a cherished connection to his heritage and a source of comfort and happiness.

Outside of his professional life, he enjoyed staying active and was an avid runner who valued keeping both his body and mind engaged. Baseball held a special place in his heart, and he was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He also had a genuine appreciation for cars and enjoyed the interest and excitement they brought him. He found happiness in life’s simple pleasures, including stopping at Wegmans for a cup of coffee and enjoying one of his favorite hamburgers from Wendy’s. These familiar routines, along with his favorite foods and pastimes, brought him enjoyment and were a memorable part of his everyday life.

He will be remembered for his honorable service to his country, his 25 years of dedication to education, his Lebanese heritage, and the many memories he created throughout his life. From his childhood days on 10th Street with his siblings to his years as a teacher, his love of baseball and cars, and his enjoyment of both Lebanese cuisine and his favorite everyday treats, each chapter helped tell the story of a life uniquely his own. His legacy lives on through the students he taught, the family traditions he cherished, and the memories he leaves behind with those who knew and loved him. He will be dearly missed.

Relatives and friends of the family will meet for his viewing and funeral on Tuesday morning, October 20th from 11:00AM to 12:00 Noon at the BOCCO FUNERAL HOME, 1300 North Kings Hwy., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
