Charles V. DiPietropolo Obituary

Charles V. DiPietropolo, age 76, passed away on July 13, 2025. Beloved husband for 53 years to Ruth Lynn DiPietropolo (nee Richards). Loving father of Lynn (Ramon), Antoinette, and Vito (Alicia). Devoted grandfather of Karisa, Taryn, Cataldo, and Lillian. Dear brother of John (Pat) and Joseph (Marybeth) and many loving nieces and nephews.

Charlie was born Cataldo Vito DiPietropolo to Vincent and Lillian (nee Cianci) in Camden, NJ. He graduated from St. Rose of Lima Elementary School in Haddon Heights and Haddon Township High School. He received a business degree from Camden County College. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School in Business Administration and received a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Public Administration from Rutgers University. He was an adjunct professor of Computer Science at Camden County for many years.

Over his career, he was involved in many aspects of computer technology both in the technical and management areas. He was a long-time employee of the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation, worked for Actium Consulting, and TD Bank in their computer and technology divisions. After retirement, he assisted his son in their family-owned business Franco's Place in Westmont and continued to be an instructor at Camden County College. He also appeared as an extra in several movies and TV shows, as he always said, “Just for the fun of it.”

He resided in Haddon Township his whole life and dedicated many years of volunteer service to multiple organizations. He was an active member of the Collingswood Haddon Township Oaklyn Jaycees where he was chairman of the Annual Holiday Parade. For many years he was chairman of the Camden County Junior Miss Scholarship Program and active in the statewide New Jersey Program. Charlie started one of the first local cable TV channels in the county bringing local meetings and events to early cable viewers. He was elected to the Haddon Township Board of Education and served in many capacities including Vice President. He was a member of the Library Site Selection Committee and was instrumental in bringing the local library into the Camden County System. He was elected a Haddon Township Commissioner and served as Deputy Mayor and Director of Revenue and Finance.
