Denise was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia on October 27th, 1964. She went on to graduate from Fulton High School before heading north with her husband to New Jersey.
Denise Fowlkes was the heart and foundation of her family — a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother whose love was felt in every corner of her home. She balanced her life with extraordinary dedication, working full time in the medical field while never missing a moment to care for and uplift those she loved. Her strength and selflessness set an example of perseverance and compassion that will continue to inspire her family for generations.
A lifelong sports fan, Denise found immense joy in cheering on her sons throughout their basketball and football journeys — the loudest voice in the stands, always offering encouragement and pride in their achievements on and off the field. Beyond her love of sports, she possessed a deeply creative spirit. She ran her own creative services business, channeling her artistry into design and expression, and found peace and fulfillment in the intricate details of scrapbooking, capturing memories and family milestones with care and imagination.
Denise also expressed her love through cooking — her kitchen was a place of comfort and connection, where her signature dishes brought family and friends together. Her recipes, filled with warmth and flavor, will live on as a cherished part of the Fowlkes family’s story, passed down through generations as a reminder of her nurturing spirit and joyful presence.
