Dennis P. Nichols, age 75, of Cherry Hill, NJ, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully at home on March 2, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Dennis was the beloved husband of Theresa Nichols (née Ferguson). Devoted father of Dennis (Lisa) and Tinamarie Market (Dan). Loving grandfather of Taylor (Rob), Madison (Matt), Danny, and Brady, and proud great-grandfather of Leo and Cece.
He was the cherished brother of Barbara, Patrick, Kellyann, and the late Susan, and was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Dolores Nichols.
Dennis was a proud retired letter carrier who spent many years delivering mail throughout Philadelphia. He was known not only for his dedication to his route, but also for the friendships he built along the way. A familiar and friendly face in every neighborhood he served, Dennis enjoyed stopping to chat with neighbors and was always ready with a smile or a story. He never met a stranger he didn’t like and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone.
He was a lifelong and loyal Philadelphia Phillies fan who rarely missed a game and loved sharing that passion with his wife.
Dennis will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and the genuine connections he made with so many people throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral on Monday morning, March 9th from 11:30am to 12:30pm at The Catholic Community of Christ Our Light Church, 402 North Kings Hwy., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Dennis’s memory to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
