(Padua) Estrella Reyes, on January 21, 2024 age 89, of Cherry Hill, NJ.  Beloved wife of Tomas A. Reyes, Jr.  Dear mother of Junel (Marilou), Joel (Ana), Tomas A., III (Astrid), Jes (Belinda) and Jim (Liza).  Loving grandmother of Ellis (Pat), Bernie (Zach), Christina, Justin, Shani, Shaena, Sean, Jesselyn (Benneth) Blancaflor, Jennifer, Sidney and Brandon; great-grandmother of Roman, Benji, Bradley.

Estrella, a loving matriarch whose journey began in Lapog, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, passed away at the age of 89 on January 21, 2024. Born to Segundo and Loreto, she was the eldest of three sisters. Estrella's life was marked by resilience and love, from her nursing career in the Philippines to her determined pursuit of the American dream.

In 1974, Estrella realized her dream of moving to the United States, where she worked tirelessly as a nurse, leaving an indelible mark in various healthcare settings, particularly in psychiatric care. Her dedication extended beyond the professional realm; she successfully reunited her entire family in 1984, exemplifying her unwavering commitment as a mother.

Estrella's compassionate nature was evident, especially in one instance where she exhibited heroic efforts to save a patient despite personal injuries. Colleagues remember her as a mentor and leader who shaped their careers. Her vibrant spirit, infectious smile, and active involvement in the Filipino community endeared her to many. 

As a devoted matriarch, Estrella created cherished memories with her grandchildren, taking them on outings and sharing her love for life. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her legacy of love, resilience, and generosity will endure.

Relatives and friends of the family will meet for her first viewing on Sunday evening, January 28th from 6:00PM to 8:00PM and her second viewing on Friday morning, February 2nd from 9:00AM to 10:45AM all at the BOCCO FUNERAL HOME, 1300 North Kings Hwy., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30am Friday morning, February 2nd at The Catholic Community of Christ Our Light Church, 402 North Kings Hwy., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.  Interment Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry, Hill.
