Greg R. Magpantay

Greg R. Magpantay, on April 6, 2023 age 82, of Cherry Hill, NJ., passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Beloved husband of Aliena Cueto Magpantay. Dear father of Jonathan (Joyce) Magpantay. Loving grandfather of Juliana. And survived by many loving nieces and nephews, and brothers-and-sisters-in-law.

Greg was born in Batangas, Philippines and later settled in Calapan, Oriental Mindoro where he met his wife, Aliena. While he was in the Philippines, he received a B.S. in Accounting from Far Eastern University and became an auditor with NACIDA in the Philippines.

He immigrated to the United States in 1976 and worked in the accounting and purchasing departments of two local companies. He enjoyed the company of friends and family, particularly if karaoke was involved. In his later years, he enjoyed walking around his neighborhood and through the various parks in Cherry Hill. Greg was a proud member of Christ Our Light Parish and served as Eucharistic minister for several years. He was a member of the Almighty Name of Jesus prayer group and a lifetime member of the Philippine Community of Southern New Jersey, Inc. and Mutya Dance Company. Greg loved easy listening music, especially the songs of Frank Sinatra and Matt Monroe, but what made him most happy was spending time with his “sweetheart” granddaughter Juliana.

Relatives and friends of the family will meet for his viewing on Thursday (4/13) evening from 7:00PM to 9:00PM at the BOCCO FUNERAL HOME, 1300 North Kings Highway, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. On Friday morning everyone will meet directly at Church for an additional viewing from 9:30AM to 10:15AM and Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30AM Friday morning all at The Catholic Community of Christ Our Light Church, 402 North Kings Hwy., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
