Lev Mozhaev, on September 28, 2023, age 97. One of the few remaining WWII veterans, highly decorated hero (recipient of the old Red Star, the highest distinction in the Soviet Union for courage and bravery). Survived by his wife Adel, daughter Natalie (Daren) Petroski, grandchildren Nicholas (Lynn) Petroski and Robert Petroski (Abigail Meloche). Preceded in death by his daughter Olga Mozhaev.
He immigrated to the US in 1975 at the age of 50 with his wife and family. Lev became the US Senior National Champion in hammer throwing, had an accomplished career as an engineer for the city of Philadelphia and has his autobiography published in Russia. A true gentleman that lived his life with honor and distinction.
Relatives and friends of the family will meet for his viewing and funeral on Tuesday morning from 10:30am to 11:30am at the BOCCO FUNERAL HOME, 1300 North Kings Hwy., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. Funeral services will be conducted 11:30am Tuesday in the funeral home. Interment Colestown Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
