September 12, 1956 ~ October 24, 2023 (age 67) 67 Years Old

Lt Col Keith A. Michel (Ret) Obituary

Lieutenant Colonel Keith A. Michel (Ret), age 67 of Cherry Hill, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on October 24, 2023.  Beloved husband of Patrizia Germano. Cherished brother of Vanessa Lynne (Eddy) Irons. Father of Justin Michel and Brother-in-Law of Anthony Germano.

Keith served his nation proudly for 20 years as a pilot for the United States Air Force until he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.  Keith began his Air Force career flying helicopters, then transitioned to the work-horse C-141 Starlifter - supporting Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and the Iraqi war.  Whenever a conflict arose overseas, his friends knew Keith was airborne somewhere in the world.  But when not flying, Keith took full advantage of his time.  He explored the arts – a season ticket holder for the Philadelphia Orchestra.  He enjoyed all genres of music – he loved the Beatles and he spent years trying to find a shop with a vinyl from Canned Heat.  He was an adventurer to the end.  He needed little justification to throw his full support into riding in an event supporting various great causes like the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  He loved hiking, particularly trails that went up and spent three weeks hiking the Appalachian Trial. He cherished the time spent enjoying the view from the top of a climb.  A life-long learner, Keith could routinely be found enjoying a news-paper at a favorite local diner or coffee-shop.
