Mary C. McShane

Mary C. McShane (nee McKenna) of Mount Laurel, (previously West Berlin), passed peacefully in prayer, surrounded by family on 12-13-2022, at the age of 89. Beloved mother of Pauline Rohloff, Christina Zajac and Stephen McShane, and the late Marie York and Christopher McShane, and welcoming mother to son in laws Tom Zajac and Victor Rohloff. Devoted and beloved grandmum to Amy and Amanda Zajac; Joseph and Peter Rohloff; Michelle, Walter, Brian and Steven York. Treasured great grandmother to Abigail, David, Steven, Gideon, Gavin, Bennett, Nora, Thea and Brielle. Cherished sister to Patricia, Josie and Ann, and the late Michael and Paddy.  Also survived by her sister-in-law Mary and brother-in-law Colin.

Mary’s faith was inspiring to all who knew her, and she actively participated in the Franciscan Order, The Legion of Mary, the Altar and Rosary Society, and her beloved parish. Born in Ireland, she had a great love of travel, both to her birthplace in Monaghan, to England, and her journeys throughout the world, sharing many a trip with her children and grandchildren. She touched so many lives through her years on the maternity unit at Virtua Health, and her volunteer work and pastoral care within nursing homes. An avid gardener, she found happiness and joy in tending to her (and others!) flowers and vegetable garden, and the beauty of nature. A full life, lived well.

Relatives and friends will gather for the visitation on Friday, December 16th from 9:30AM to 11:15AM and Funeral Mass at 11:30am all at St. Simon Stock Parish/OLMC Church, 178 W White Horse Pike, Berlin NJ. She will be laid to peace in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin. For those interested, Mary asked, in lieu flowers, for donations to the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Regional School, 1 Cedar Ave., Berlin, NJ 08009 or St Vincent dePaul Thrift and Food Pantry, 157 W. White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ 08009. Arrangements by BOCCO FUNERAL HOME of Cherry Hill, NJ.
