Phyllis Elizabeth Gilligan

Phyllis Elizabeth (nee Ackerman) Gilligan, age 86, of Mt. Laurel, NJ, passed away on January 13, 2025.  Dear mother of Kathleen (Carl) Meline, Buddy (Debbie) Gilligan, Colleen (Larry) Thiel and Timothy (Sharon) Gilligan.  Loving Mom Mom of Amanda Gilligan, T.J. (Dana) Gilligan, Dillon Gilligan, Jessica Meline, Taylor Gilligan, Connor Gilligan, Erica Meline, Kyle Thiel and Haley Thiel.

Phyllis was beloved by all, spreading joy wherever she went.  She was cherished by her children and grandchildren, and devoted much of her life to her family and friends.  As a single mother, she modeled strength and resilience, and raised a family that she was very proud of.  Phyllis was brave and spontaneous, fearing only one thing in life: missing out.  She had a zest for life, and saw each day as an opportunity for a new adventure.  Whether she was planning a trip to the beach, learning a new instrument, going to a party, or simply reading the next novel for her book club, Phyllis was determined to live life to the fullest.  Though she has passed on from this life, memories of her will live on forever.

Relatives and friends of the family will meet for the visitation and funeral on Friday morning, January 24th, from 10:00am to 11:00am at The Catholic Church of St. Mary, 2001 Springdale Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08003.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00am Friday.  In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions to the National Council on Aging (www.ncoa.org).  Arr. by BOCCO FUNERAL HOME of Cherry Hill.  Since Phyllis was such a colorful spirit, please feel free to wear bright clothing to her service.
