Richard F. Budesa, age 92 of Cherry Hill, NJ passed away on February 20, 2025 peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was a long time resident of Cherry Hill, NJ, born in Camden, NJ. Richard is survived by his wife Mary Eleanor (nee Murtha) after sixty-one years of marriage. He was predeceased by his parents Frank J. and Hilda (nee Kral) and beloved sister Barbara. Richard is survived by his children Richard Jr. (Cathy) and Robert; granddaughter Stephanie Sonnenberg and loving sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He has three Godchildren: Walter Deleski, Neil Harmande and Michael Murtha.
Richard was a fifty year member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America and performed in three registered quartets singing as a bass. He was awarded Barber Shopper of the Year while living in Dover, Del. He was a graduate of Camden High School (Class of 1950), Camden County College and earned an associative and B.S. degrees from Rutgers University. He was employed by Campbell Soup Company for thirty-eight years serving in Camden, NJ, Salisbury, MD, and Dover, Del. He retired from the Camden General offices in 1988.
Richard survived Polio that he contracted in 1933. Richard proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 during the Korean Conflict. He was also an enthusiastic model railroad hobbyist.
Relatives and friends of the family will meet for his viewing and funeral on February 28th, Friday morning from 10:00AM to 10:45AM at Holy Eucharist R.C. Church, 344 Kresson Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM Friday. Interment New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.
