Richard Drapczuk was born in Camden, New Jersey on September 16, 1946 and passed away on November 3, 2020. He is predeceased by his parents, Adam Drapczuk and Josephine Drapczuk (nee Machinsky). He is also predeceased by his grandnephew, Adam Drapczuk VI. He is survived by his sister, Dia Lombardo, and his brother, Adam E. Drapczuk (Theresa). Also surviving are a niece and nephew, 5 grandnieces and grandnephews and many cousins.
Richard was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam. He is the holder of a Silver Star, a Bronze Star, and the Purple Heart as a result of his service in that conflict. He was also a holder of the New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal. After the war, he was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He also served as a counselor of veterans thru the V A. He was an avid outdoorsman and climber, kayaked and hiked across the waters and trails of this country. Richard was a graduate of Rutgers University and put his degree to good use as a supervisor in several manufacturing companies. Later, he was the proprietor of his own companies and businesses.
Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation and military honors on Thursday, November 12th, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the BOCCO FUNERAL HOME, 1300 North Kings Highway, Cherry Hill, NJ. Funeral services will begin with a prayer service at 5:30pm and follow with Military Honors all in the funeral home and will be live streamed at Bocco Funeral Home's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Bocco-Funeral-Home-160867953936518. Richard had wanted to be interred in Arlington National Cemetery alongside his fellow veterans. His wish will be carried out at a later date.
