Richard Felix Svitak

Richard Felix Svitak, on March 25, 2024 age 86, Pennsauken, NJ.  Beloved husband of the late Claire Svitak (nee Jablonski).  Dear father of Linda (James) Higginbotham and Karen Kozak.  Loving grandfather of Kelly (Stephen) Holroyd and Nicole (fiance Brendan Smith) Kozak; great-grandfather of Kendall and Brynnlee.  Predeceased by his sister Florence Kempisty.

Richard grew up in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia where he met his beloved wife of of 58 years, Claire.  Together, they raised their daughters in Northeast Philadelphia before moving to Pennsauken.  He was a skilled millwright, welder and cabinet-maker.  Employed by the Aldan Rubber Company as a stationary engineer, he retired after 44 years.  Richard volunteered first as a maintenance mechanic and then as a docent for many years on the Battleship New Jersey.  As a string band member, he played the accordion in Mummer’s Parades.  Richard enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and abroad, gardening, and fishing and boating on Lake George, New York.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life service at a later date.
