Thomas Michael Prendergast

Thomas Michael Prendergast, on May 26, 2026 age 88 of Cherry Hill, NJ.  Beloved husband of the late Carol Ann Prendergast (nee Yanessa). Dear father of David Michael Prendergast and Thomas John Prendergast.  Loving grandfather of Colin Thomas, Madeline Rose, Sara Rose, Thomas Michael II, and Ava Jane. Cherished brother of Robert Prendergast Ann Weller and Mildred Ablen]. Predeceased by his siblings George Prendergast and John Prendergast; and his parents George and Mildred Prendergast.

Growing up in Reading Pa Tom was a graduate of Central high school in Reading Pennsylvania where he was voted class president. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy serving his country aboard the USS O’Hare.

Following  his honorable discharge from the Navy, Mr. Prendergast enrolled and graduated from Saint Joseph University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he majored in business administration. He was a member of the Varsity tennis team, playing number one singles as well as being voted team captain.

Upon graduation He was hired by Proctor Silex SCM corporation as a sales trainee Where he spent 42 years, eventually retiring as an executive vice president and officer of the company at Hamilton Beach Proctor silex.

Tom loved playing golf for many years, especially with his sons, bother in law Paul Ablen,   brothers Bob and John As well as his beloved best friend, Mr. Robert McKinley and habitual partner and friend, Don Hoegel. He spent many years As a member at Little Mill country club in Medford, New Jersey. Through his time in business endeavors and recreationally, he played dozens of the top hundred golf  courses in the world.

During his time in the Navy, business and recreationally Tom flew over 2,500,000 miles in visiting 23 countries and 49 states in the United States.

He loved to spend time with his family. His sons, brothers and sisters, his beloved grandchildren. Most of all Tom enjoyed caring for and spending time with his wife, Carol Who he was married to for Almost 63 years.

He will always be remembered as as honest, good hearted and selfless man of character. dedicated to his family and people he cared for. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral on Tuesday morning, June 9th from 10:00am to 10:45am at The Catholic Community of Christ Our Light Church, 402 North Kings Highway, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00am Tuesday. Arr. by BOCCO FUNERAL HOME, Cherry Hill.
