William D. Kocher, MD

William “Bill” D. Kocher, MD passed on December 1, 2025, age 67, of Moorestown, NJ.  Beloved husband of Lydia Kocher, MD (nee Komarnicky). Dear father of Kristen Kocher Ph.D. (Stephan Nazarian) and Alex Kocher.  Loving grandfather of Sofia. Cherished son of Marlene Kocher and the late William L. Kocher. Dear brother of Doug Kocher (Janet) and David Kocher; cherished uncle of Lauren Kocher.

William was born on March 23rd, 1958 in Allentown, PA. He went to Penn State University and was a lifelong Nittany Lion football fan. He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and went on to specialize in hematopathology. William had a rich career as a pathologist but his life's passion was medical education. For over a decade, he served as Senior Associate Dean of Admissions and Associate Professor of Biomedical Sciences at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and received numerous student-nominated accolades during his career. William was a Phillies and Flyers fan and was an accomplished D&D Dungeon Master. In his spare time he enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, cooking, hiking, playing and coaching softball, listening to classic rock, rummaging at garage sales, going to his cabin, mentoring medical students, and spending time with his family, especially his new granddaughter.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday evening, December 5th from 7:00PM to 9:00PM at the BOCCO FUNERAL HOME, 1300 North Kings Hwy., Cherry Hill, NJ.  Funeral services will be celebrated Saturday morning, December 6th at 9:30AM at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 675 Cooper Landing Rd., Cherry Hill. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions to The Kocher Family Endowed Scholarship at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (http://go.rowan.edu/KocherScholarship).
